She was preceded in death by her parents,
one brother Ora Damewood, two sisters, Eva Ray and Mrs. Albert
(Effie) Swanson.
The following poem was written by her 12
year old grand-daughter Sharon Beach, a week preceding her
illness:
LIFE MUST GO ON
Life goes on, man grows old,
Warm summer air grows cold,
When man grows old he eventually dies,
As sorrowful clouds cover up blue skies.
Spring comes, many are born,
Those who die are surely mourned,
Those who leave the earths face
Are followed by young who take their place.
Funeral services were held at the Eckhart
Funeral Chapel Jan. 23, 1964, at 2:00pm with Rev. J. C. Daniel
officiating. Mrs.
Claire Kahler and Mrs. Kenneth Kirkendall accompanied by Mrs.
Dane Bales as organist, sang “In the Garden” and “The Old Rugged
Cross.”
Casketbearers were Leland Baird, Jack Rundle, Blaine Lappin, Max
Donahey, Charles Lohrmeyer and A. G. E. Cummings.
Interment was in the Pleasant View
Cemetery.
