February 16, 1746 in
Lampeter, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and
died
in July 1, 1836 in
Flat Creek (now Corryton) , Knox County, Tennessee.
He married
Hannah E Unknown
in
1766. She was
born in 1750 in Virginia and died in Corryton, Knox Co., Tenn.

Residences:
His mother and father immigrated to colonial Pennsylvania in
1742 from Buettenhardt, Switzerland. He and his two
brothers, Sebastian and John, were baptized in the Reformed
Church in Lampeter, Pennsylvania. His father moved the family to
Frederick Co., Virginia where the family name was Americanized
to Damewood. In 1760 and 1784, he was living in Botetourt
County, Virginia. In 1796, he was granted 96 acres of land
on either side of Craig's Creek, now Newcastle, Virginia.
He moved his family to Flat Creek, Knox Co. Tenn. in 1803 or 1804.
On February 4, 1804 he bought 230 acres of l from James Wood in
Knox County. His son's, John and Henry, also bought land
from James Wood.
Will:
In his will, Malachi left 180 acres of land to his son, Nathan.
Burial:
Lot on the Damewood Farm in Corryton.
