Obadiah Watson Lee

Obadiah Watson Lee, son of Uriah Lee and Martha Watson Davis, was born April 18, 1808 in North Sumter, South Carolina and died January 27, 1877 in Western Mound Township, Macoupin County, Illinois.  

He married Rebecca Taylor Sullivan on February 1, 1829 in White, Tennessee.

Occupations : Farmer for most of his adult life in Macoupin County, Illinois.  

Land:  (See locations in Macoupin Counties).  Jesse purchased land in Macoupin County in 1835 (80 acres), 1841 (40 acres), 1849 (40 acres) and 1854 (40 acres). 

Residences: He was raised in South Carolina and moved to Tennessee where he married Rebecca Sullivan.  In the winter of 1830/1831 the moved to Jefferson County, Illinois.  Later they moved to Greene County, Illinois before settling in Macoupin County, Illinois (1835 onwards).

Rebecca Taylor Sullivan, daughter of John Sullivan and Martha Acuff, was born September 30, 1809 in White, Tennessee died February 4, 1877 in Macoupin County, Illinois.

John Sevier Lee was born November 8, 1829 and died on January 5, 1900.  He married Amanda Tilley on November 23, 1851 in Macoupin County, Illinois.

Philander Mitchel Lee was born on March 20, 1831.

Jesse Urias Lee was born on January 16, 1833 in Greene County, Illinois and died October 22, 1904 in Gaylord, Smith County, Kansas. 

Mary Jane Lee was born on September 21, 1834 in Greene County, Illinois.  She married William Wheeler on February 1856 in Western Mound Township, Macoupin County, Illinois. 

Martha Matilda Lee was born on April 1, 1837 and died July 20, 1866 in Western Mound Township, Macoupin County, Illinois. 

William H. Lee was born on February 14, 1839 in Macoupin County, Illinois and died May 15, 1877 in Western Mound Township, Macoupin County, Illinois.  He enlisted as Private in Company A of the 32nd Infantry Regiment of Illinois in 1865.  He is buried beside his parents. 

Elsie Caroline Lee was born on July 15, 1841 in Macoupin County, Illinois.  She married James Bates. 

Nancy E.  Lee was born on June 30, 1843.

Isaac V.  Lee was born on December 23, 1845.

Zachary T. Lee was born on June 12, 1850.  He married Margaret L unknown in 1886.

Aurther W. Lee was born on September 17, 1853 and died February 26, 1855.
