Residences: He was born and raised in Stark County,
Illinois. Following his marriage, Charles and Ann moved to
Sterling, Nebraska in 1883. They then moved to Gove
County, Kansas in 1888 where they farmed for five years where
they homestead 160 acres of land. In 1888, they moved to Bassetville Township, Decautur County, Kansas where
they owned land and farmed throughout Charles' life. (See

1990, they completed construction of a two story, frame house on
their land. (See
