Mathew Corcoran

Mathew Corcoran was born about 1816 in Ireland.  

He married Ann Kennedy.

Occupation:  He is listed as a laborer and farmer in census records.

Residences:  Born in Ireland, he emigrated to the USA and lived in New York initially.  The family then moved to Rockford township, Winnebago County, Illinois about 1847.  A Patrick Corcoran, perhaps his brother, also settled in Rockford township between 1850 and 1854.  About 1854, Mathew and family moved to Center Township, Henry County, Iowa where Mathew worked as a farmer.

Other spouses:  Mary Smith?  Edward C. Corcoran's wedding records list his mother's maiden name as Mary Smith and his father as Mathew Corcoran.  No further records regarding Mary Smith's marriage to Mathew Corcoran have been located.

Ann Kennedy was born about 1825 in Ireland.

Margaret Corcoran was born about 1846 in New York

John T Corcoran was born about 1848 in Illinois and died on December 7, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA.  He married Ophelia L Johnson in 1874.

Mary A Corcoran was born November 1850 in Rockford Township, Winnabego County, Illinois.

Timothy Corcoran was born in October 15, 1854 in Illinois and died on May 10, 1929 in Oberlin, Decatur County, Ks.  He married Sarah Elizabeth Slaven on January 14, 1886.

Bridget Corcoran was born in 1856 in Henry County, Iowa.

Edward C. Corcoran was born in July 1861 in Iowa and died in 1915 in Oberlin, Decatur County, Ks.  He married Rosetta E. Carter on September 9, 1882. 

William Corcoran was born in 1875 in California. Whether William is the son of Timothy and Ann is uncertain.
