living with and work on the farm of the John Leggett family in
Nebraska township, Page County, Iowa. James, Lillian and two children moved
to Kansas from Iowa by train in 1890. They settled in
Belmont Township, Phillips County where James farmed.

was 15 years old. After her marriage to James Damewood in
1884, they continued to live in Iowa till 1890 when the family
moved to Phillips County, Kansas near Speed.
